Training Today, Building Tomorrow’s Agricultural Entrepreneurs

A Monday like no other at the Centre de Formation Professionnelle en Élevage, Pisciculture et Agriculture de Soa (CEFPREPAS)!

Our October session learners have officially begun their agropastoral training, marking the start of a new journey toward acquiring practical skills, developing professional expertise, and exploring opportunities in agriculture, livestock farming, and related industries.

We are proud to welcome learners from different backgrounds and countries, reflecting the growing interest in agropastoral training and the importance of developing skills that can create opportunities across borders.

Why Is Agropastoral Training Important Today?
Agropastoral activities play a fundamental role in the development of societies around the world. Agriculture and livestock farming contribute to food production, employment, income generation, and the supply of essential raw materials for numerous industries.

As populations grow and food systems face increasing challenges, the need for skilled agricultural and livestock professionals continues to be significant. Climate change, soil degradation, rising production costs, and the need for sustainable farming practices make technical knowledge and innovation increasingly important.

Agropastoral activities also offer opportunities for entrepreneurship. From poultry and pig farming to fish production, mushroom cultivation, market gardening, animal-feed production, and renewable energy, individuals can develop practical skills that help them establish businesses, create jobs, and contribute to their local economies.

However, success in these sectors requires more than motivation alone. It demands technical knowledge, hands-on experience, sound management practices, and the ability to adapt to changing market needs. This is why professional agropastoral training is essential.

CEFPREPAS: Learning by Doing
At CEFPREPAS, we believe that the future of agropastoral development depends on people who can transform knowledge into practical solutions.

Our six-month vocational training programmes emphasize 80% practical learning and 20% theory, allowing learners to develop their skills through direct experience in our training workshops.
Depending on their training activities, learners are introduced to several areas, including:
• Livestock farming, including poultry, pigs, rabbits, and other species.
• Pisciculture and fish hatchery operations.
• Agriculture, market gardening, greenhouse cultivation, and mushroom production.
• Black soldier fly farming and the production of alternative animal-feed resources.
• Organic fertiliser production and composting.
• Renewable energy solutions, including solar energy and biogas.

Our approach is designed to help learners build a solid practical foundation for employment, further professional development, or the creation of their own agropastoral enterprises.
Upon successful completion of the programme and the applicable requirements, learners can obtain a Certificat de Qualification Professionnelle (CQP) issued by MINEFOP and an Attestation de Fin de Formation issued by CEFPREPAS.
More Than Training: An Opportunity to Build a Future
Agropastoral training is not only about learning how to produce food. It is also about discovering opportunities, developing problem-solving skills, creating sustainable businesses, and contributing to food security.
For young people seeking professional direction, aspiring entrepreneurs looking to enter the agricultural sector, and individuals wishing to strengthen their technical skills, agropastoral training can provide a practical pathway toward new possibilities.

At CEFPREPAS, we are committed to supporting learners as they develop the skills and confidence needed to explore these opportunities.
